Welcome to the Psoriasis One to One home page.
Psoriasis One to One is a peer-to-peer support network that provides support and disease education and treatment information to newly diagnosed patients with psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis. Psoriasis mentors are trained volunteers who are matched with these patients in their local communities. Anyone can learn how to be a psoriasis mentor- you just need to have the desire to help others help themselves.
Recruiting volunteer mentors
The Psoriasis One to One program launched in Fall of 2009. We are currently recruiting and training volunteers in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, New York and Philadelphia. If you live in one of these cities and would like to become a psoraisis mentor, please e-mail the Psoriasis Foundation at volunteer@psoriasis.org or call 800.723.9166 ext. 402.
We are also looking for parent mentors to help other parents who have children with psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis.
Training
Basic traning for mentors is offerend on a regular basis. The next training is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. Pacific Time. To participate, you will need internet and phone access. All trainings are conducted via WebEx. We will post upcoming training dates as they are confirmed.

Reporting

Mentor for the Mentors
Seasoned volunteer Jody Kim-Eng has offered to serve as a mentor for the mentors. She is available to contact if you need advice or would like to discuss a particular situation about mentoring. Jody has a lot of experience with mentoring, leading suport groups and providing assistance to psoriasis and psoriatic arthrtis patients. You can reach her at 760.736.0134 or jodygk@genek.com
