Genital psoriasis
Genital psoriasis in children

Children can also be diagnosed with genital psoriasis. If you are a parent of a child with genital psoriasis, it is important to understand as much as you can about the disease. Just like other important talks parents have with their children, what is said is based on the child's ability to comprehend the information, his or her age and level of maturity.

Something more important to address may be problems associated with itching. Itching can cause irritation, which may become infected. Scratching also can produce dryness, thickening and further itching of the skin. This may be very uncomfortable and embarrassing for children. Being open and honest, and helping them to treat the itching will help children feel more comfortable with their condition.
