
National Psoriasis Foundation executives and directors

A dedicated staff of nearly 40 works at the National Psoriasis Foundation on behalf of people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and all those touched by these diseases. These staff leaders head up the organization's main departments and functions.
Randy Beranek - President and CEO
Mr. Beranek joined the National Psoriasis Foundation in 2008 as its president and CEO. In his role, he drives the Foundation's strategic direction in support of its mission and the needs of the psoriasis community. He comes to the organization with more than 24 years of executive-level experience in large, nonprofit health organizations. Mr. Beranek has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and rhetorical criticism from the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
Bruce Bebo, Jr., Ph.D. - Director, Research
Dr. Bebo joined the Foundation as Director of Research in 2008. He comes to the foundation with 20 years of experience in autoimmune disease research. After receiving his Ph.D. in immunology from Texas A&M University, he completed post-doctoral training at the Portland VA Medical Center, and then served on the research faculty at Oregon Health and Science University. Most recently, he was the director of immunology research for a specialty pharmaceutical company in Germany, developing new topical and oral treatments for skin diseases including psoriasis.
Catie Coman - Director, Communications
Ms. Coman joined the National Psoriasis Foundation in 2006 managing the organization's membership and annual giving program. In 2008, she became the director of communications. She has more than 15 years working in the nonprofit sector, focusing on organizational development, communications and fundraising. Ms. Coman has a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations from San Jose State University and a Master of Arts in communication studies from University of Portland.
Bette Drake - Director, Finance
Ms. Drake joined the National Psoriasis Foundation in 2002 as the director of finance. She is responsible for overseeing the Foundation's finance department. Her background includes public accounting in the private and nonprofit sectors. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Portland State University.
Jennifer Hepler - Director, Operations
Ms. Hepler has been with the National Psoriasis Foundation since 1993 and has worked in a variety of capacities. For the past several years, she has overseen the development and maintenance of the organization's database, fulfillment and technology systems. Ms. Hepler has a bachelor's degree in literature and secondary education from Pacific University.
Christy Langan - Senior Director, Education and Outreach
Christy Langan joined the Foundation in 2005 as the director of corporate and foundation relations. In 2007, she moved into a new position as the director of education and outreach. She has more than 16 years experience in the nonprofit sector, primarily focusing on engaging individuals, businesses and youth in volunteer service. Ms. Langan studied business administration and sociology at Oregon State University and San Diego State University.
Sheila Rittenberg - Senior Director, Advocacy and External Affairs
Ms. Rittenberg joined the National Psoriasis Foundation in 2002 as the director of corporate and foundation relations and in 2004 became the director of advocacy, focusing on protecting access to psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis treatments through insurance and on increasing federal funds allocated to the diseases. She has experience in community development, marketing, and fund raising in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Ms. Rittenberg has a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Sir George Williams University, Montreal, Canada.
