Discrimination

People with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis want—and deserve—to be treated with respect, just like everyone else. According to the National Institutes of Health, as many as 7.5 million Americans have psoriasis, yet a significant portion of the public is still unaware of the seriousness of the disease. Many individuals with psoriasis encounter people who do not understand that psoriasis is common, chronic and noncontagious.¹

Discrimination can occur in the workplace, at the neighborhood pool, at the salon or elsewhere. Fortunately, there are several federal laws designed to protect all people from discrimination.
