Discrimination: How we can help

How the National Psoriasis Foundation can support your efforts
The Psoriasis Foundation believes that most cases of discrimination toward people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are based on lack of awareness and misunderstanding, not malice, and part of our mission is to raise awareness of these diseases. When you have been discriminated against due to your psoriasis, a simple letter explaining the basic facts about these diseases can often resolve the problem. Providing the business or service where you experienced discrimination with the opportunity to learn more about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis is often helpful. This may also increase the likelihood that others with psoriasis will not be discriminated against in the future.
If you think a letter would help in your case, please e-mail advocacy@psoriasis.org. Please include the following information in your e-mail:
Your address and phone number
Where the incident occurred
The name and address of the individual or organization that you believe discriminated against you
A brief description of what happened
Once we receive this information, we can provide you with a packet of information and a letter to give to the business where you experienced discrimination.
By reporting your experience to the National Psoriasis Foundation, you can help us track these incidents in the psoriasis community. Incomplete requests cannot be fulfilled, so please make sure you include all of the above information.
