Capitol Call-In: Monday, February 23, 2009

Call for a cure!
You can help us kick off our advocacy efforts for 2009 even if you can't make it to Washington, D.C., for Capitol Hill Day. Capitol Call-In is an opportunity for people from across the country to phone members of Congress on one day, February 23, to urge for congressional support for better access to care and more psoriasis research funding. Participating in this national effort only takes a few minutes and is as simple as picking up the phone to call a friend. We will provide you with the message to deliver, the names of your members of Congress and the numbers you need to call.
If elected officials don't hear from the psoriasis community, they won't know about our issues or concerns. By participating in Capitol Call-In, you can help educate Congress about the seriousness of the disease and push for increased government research funding to find a cure.
Calling the offices of members of Congress is one of the easiest and most effective ways for people affected by psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis to communicate the importance of our issues to policymakers. Such phone calls, when organized as part of a national effort, are very effective in building more support in Congress for boosting research toward a cure for psoriasis.

Ready to get started now?
Help the National Psoriasis Foundation spread the word by telling a friend about Capitol Call-In. Members of Congress are most responsive when they hear from several constituents about an issue, so we need as many volunteers from around the country as possible to take part in Capitol Call-In. Anyone can participate—including friends and family members who do not have psoriasis themselves.
