The National Psoriasis Foundation has many opportunities for volunteering. Please carefully review and indicate which are of interest to you. Please remember that effective volunteering requires time and commitment. We dont want you to over-commit yourself by participating in too many activities. We recommend starting with one and increasing as your interest builds and as your time allows.
Advocacy
Psoriasis Advocate : Join the movement to call for increased federal funding for psoriasis research and improved access to care. Volunteers are needed across the country to send e-mails, write letters and meet with members of Congress in local communities. You can also join us during our annual Capitol Hill Day in Washington, D.C.
Community outreach
Medical outreach volunteer : Visit medical professionals to share information about National Psoriasis Foundation programs and services.
Community meeting volunteer : Represent the Psoriasis Foundation at community meetings, health fairs or other community events by distributing information and answering questions about psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Fundraising
National Psoriasis Walk for Awareness : Help generate awareness about psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis and raise funds for the Psoriasis Foundation by participating in our newest national initiative. Serve on the planning committee, join a team, become a team captain, make a
donation or volunteer to help out on the day of the event.
Local support groups
Support group co-leader : Help others in your community by starting or co-leading a psoriasis support group in your area. Support groups are critical in providing support, connection and information for those living with psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis.
Support group volunteer : There may already be a support group in your area that needs your help. Provide assistance to the group by helping with meeting logistics, marketing or website maintenance.
Other ways you can help
National Psoriasis Victor Henschel BioBank : Help advance psoriasis research by participating in the BioBank. Volunteers are needed to provide genetic samples and ongoing clinical information that will be used by researchers across the country.
Survey panels : Share your personal experiences and opinions by participating in our survey panels. These panels are critical in influencing decision makers in Congress and insurance companies, and to educate the general public.
Message board moderation : Help members of the psoriasis community find information, support and peer connection by joining our volunteer message board moderation team. This is a great at-home volunteer opportunity.
