To be considered for Volunteer of the Year, a candidate must be nominated by a sponsor who fills out an online nomination form, and two other sponsors who write letters of support. Candidates are chosen based on the following:
Eligibility
- The award is for volunteer service with the National Psoriasis Foundation completed during the current fiscal year (June-July)
- Members of the Board of Trustees, Medical Board and their committees are ineligible to receive this award for their service in these capacities.
- Please limit nomination to activities completed on behalf of the National Psoriasis Foundation.
- A volunteer may be nominated by the board, volunteers, or the general public. Self-nominations are acceptable.
- Selection committee members are not eligible to nominate or write letters of support for nominated candidates.
Criteria
All nominations considered on the following criteria:
- Initiative—Initiates activities or projects that noticeably improve the lives of people living with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis
- Sustained commitment—Demonstrates an established commitment to volunteer with the National Psoriasis Foundation
- Impact—Undertakes work that shows an impact
- Innovation—Uses innovative or exemplary approaches to complete his or her volunteer service
Be sure to address these qualities when completing the nomination form and letters of recommendation. The nomination time frame is March 1 through April 30. The award will be presented during the National Psoriasis Foundation 2008 National Conference, which will be Aug. 15 - 16 in Orlando, Fla.
