College-age Psoriasis Awareness Campaign

Young adulthood can be a particularly exciting—and stressful—time of life. But it's even more challenging for young people with psoriasis who sometimes have to endure stares and social rejection.

The College-Age Psoriasis Awareness Campaign (CAPAC) has been created to educate young adults ages 18 to 25 about the physical, emotional and social impact of psoriasis, a noncontagious, common and chronic disease.

Meet Sharma, David and Dr. Feldman
Sharma Kiesner, 22, graduated the University of Hartford in Connecticut in May 2006 with degrees in Economics/Finance and Marketing. Sharma was diagnosed with psoriasis 11 years ago, and has had a severe form of psoriasis for the majority of this time. In 2005, she was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Despite the fact that she must work hard to manage her condition, Sharma's motto has always been, "I have psoriasis but it doesn't have me." Living life to the fullest is something she believes in strongly.
