Thank you for your invaluable help in making Finding a Cure: The Campaign for the National Psoriasis Foundation a financial success. Thanks to your generosity, we generated more than $4.6 million for our research and advocacy programs! Fund raising for the campaign is now closed, but with this revenue we are able to move forward. Donors have begun submitting blood and tissue samples for the National Psoriasis Victor Henschel BioBank, and we expect to begin accepting proposals for their use from researchers later this year. Through the leadership of our advocacy staff, the first-ever comprehensive psoriasis legislation has been introduced in the U.S. Congress. We will continue to gather sponsors and raise awareness about it until this proposed legislation becomes law.
Though the Finding a Cure campaign has closed, we look forward to promoting promising areas of scientific progress through the Discovery Fund for Research. This fund will provide seed-grants to scientists studying the mechanism of the disease. These seed grants enable early research projects to get off the ground.
