Just a little reminder for all those who are planning to attend Capital Hill Day and are coming from a long distance. Before or after taking care of business at hand and you want to do a little ssightseeing I would suggest you contact you Represenative or Senator for free ticket to many of the most sought after sights. They can arrage ticket for the White House Tour, Capital Tour and othere with very little wait time. It is important to note that there is a Llimited number of tisckets available from each elected official. The are all give equal number of tickets. Thos who come from states closer to DC the tickets go faster.

Sorry for that cut off.

Mitch

PS. ONe of the beauties of Washington DC is almost all museums and all national monuments are free.

I've been trying to get CHD in my schedule, but the efforts have not been ideal thus far. This is a good point you bring up Mitch, because I've never been to DC, but would love to take a trip there and CHD would be a great way to kill two birds with one legislative stone (or is that tablet?).

Seeing the sights in Washington is well worth the time. The whole place is fascinating, especially if you like our History.

I have never been to washington d.c. I think it is a very important part of national education to see the capital. My parents never took us as kids, we had a school tour of lansing and thats it.

This year doesn't look good for me, but I am certain to bring my daughter and DW to Washington one of these years just for that alone. I will try for next CHD as I can kill both birds with one stone.

This is a very good point Mitch, thanks for bringing it up.

Steve, I think he was going to say.....

"It is important to note that there is a wonderful president and first lady at the White House, be sure to make that White House tour if you can"

I don't want to damage the purpose of the thread. Many here know that Mitch and I are at the opposite ends of the political spectrum, yet we still meet in the middle somewhere.

From my observations of politics, I will say this, that these congressmen, senators, cabinet members, etc....and even the president hack at each other all day. But then at the end of the day you see them eating dinner together and discussing things. I think it's just the business of politics. We have two Democratic senators in Michigan and I am going to their offices personally to drop off my CHD letters. Although I don't necessarily believe in their platform, it doesn't mean that they don't represent me.
