In response to requests from many Message Board users, the Foundation has created a scholarship fund for people who need a little extra help getting to Capitol Hill Day. Many users have voiced their desire to contribute to such a fund. So here it is...

Can't attend Capitol Hill Day? Help send someone else!

Your financial support will help fund another volunteer's Capitol Hill Day experience. Please contribute now. (http://www.psoriasis.org/securezone/donate.php?pc=2005CHDS)

Need a little help getting to Capitol Hill Day? Please download and complete this scholarship application (http://www.psoriasis.org/files/pdfs/advocacy/2005_chd_scholarship.pdf).

The success of our efforts really will depend on the number of people who get involved. And the success of this fund will depend on the amount donated.

Thanks,
Joey

Joey-

Great idea!

One question, I noticed when you click the link to donate, it takes you to the regular NPF donation page. Is there a way that we can tell our donations will be earmarked for CHD scholarships?

I'm not sure of all the technology involved, but when you click through to the donate page using the Capitol Hill Day Scholarship link, there's a code attached to your donation indicating it's for the scholarship.

If you put your mouse on the link without clicking it, you'll see the web address ends with 2005CHDS--2005 Capitol Hill Day Scholarship.

But you must use that particular link.

Thanks,
Joey

Hi Joey,

Thank you for creating this important fund. We appreciate your efforts and work in getting this done.

Let's keep this post at the top, folks, for two reasons. Let's keep the donations coming in, and the applications as well.

I encourage anyone who can to contribute, no amount is too small. Even $10 or $20 helps get someone deserving to speak for us in DC. Please remember that it is tax deductable for most of us ( I should know..lol ).

Joey, perhaps you could post a re-assurance that for anyone who might make a donation in excess of the IRS limitations requiring a receipt for same, which for this past tax year includes any donations of cash in excess of $250 to a qualified charity ( made in any form, cash or credit card ), that NPF will provide proper documentation. In most cases that means receipts.

Personally, I deduct legally deductable donations to NPF every year, and they do exceed the $250 limit. As long as I keep my receipts, that is all that IRS requires from the taxpayer. Many folks donate more than the $250 limit to a given charity during the course of any given year. Church donations are the most common, but there are many others as well. IRS simply requires accurate record keeping. ( I am a tax professional )

Hi,

Please make a donation. I did, but it was small.

I think that is a part of the goal, though. It makes all the difference. Let's see this fund become something the Boards can be proud of!

Please make a donation today. Time is running out.

Hello Fellow Board Members,

We need to keep this up at the top. Please consider what donation you might be able to make now. Time is running short, and I believe we need to make a statement.
