View Full Version : Meeting with Bill Frist
My mother and son are going to DC. The good news is they will have a meeting with TN State Rep. Zach Wamp and Bill Frist. I would love to be able to send something with them. You know it would be directly handed to them. She will be there April 9th through April 13th.
Any suggestions? Mom has a breakfast meeting with Frist on April 12th.

Something great that could be hand delivered is a petition with signatures that some of us are coordinating, requesting additional funding for research through the NIH (National Institute of Health). I would be happy to send you one if you are interested in gathering signatures. You can either pm or email me at kpatton9@hotmail.com.
I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but Frist is a transplant surgeon from the Univ. of Vanderbilt Hosp. That is also the same place my dad had two heart transplants. Is that strange or what? Dad has met and talked to him twice.
Who knows it might be a plus!!!

Not to mention that he is the Senate Majority Leader. This is a very powerful man and with his training and experience should have a very good understanding of psoriasis and research!
I wish we had a good senator like that in Michigan.
Seems like he even stopped at an accident scene like a year ago and offerred first aid to a severly injured person. Definately a top notch meeting you have planned!!!!

Dear ANG
AS Kim said in a previuos post. There is a group of people who are coordinated a petition drive to help NPF bring home the message about the need for addition research money and other issues. If you were able to help us get signatures on our petition and then keep a copy for your self to bring with you to your appoints it would help us get as many signature as possible and give you some leaverage especially if there are a large number of people from their home district.
Please PM me and let me know if will take one of the petitions. It very important and it will us present a large number f sign petitions to the NPF and will help you with your presentation to your reps.
Please help us and yourself.
Thanks
Mitch

Hey, Mr. Pushy!....this one is mine!...lol...just kidding. :D I have pm'd Angela requesting her email, since we can't attach the petition in a pm, with the same suggestion. Hopefully, one of us will hear from her so we can get it out to her. Thanks for keeping us all on our toes, Mitch. :)
p.s. Any of us can be reached to send a copy of the petition out as suggested on the following link: http://psoriasis.org/forum/showpost.php?p=146914&postcount=1
I sent my e-mail address to Kimbercat. Bill Frist told mom that the more personal the letters the better they liked them. Instead of form letters. Remember I own a business so I can't go. Mom will do what she can. She meets with TN Zach Wamp then with Frist. Mom has met Frist before, hopefully that will be a plus since my dad has had 2 heart transplants at the same hospital that Frist is a transplant surgeon.
Maybe we can get one small step in the door.

Hi. As a former politician 4 terms as city council president in the City of Englewood I can tell you from personnel experience that I hated form letters. Nothing to was worse than having 400 form letters sing and fowarded to me.
Personel letter with your own expenerices will get noticed quicker and you will get a more personnel reponce.
I am so glad you are willing to participate in our petition drive. It is something we can do to help the NPF and be active in the fight for the cure for our own disease.
Thanks,
Mitch
I LOVE TO HAVE A GOOD FIGHT FOR A GREAT CAUSE,,,,,,AND THAT'S ALL OF US!
I'LL NEVER SURRENDER!
