Thought I would update you on the petition drive. To date we have received a total on 3168 names. This is a great accomplishment considering the number of people who took part in this exercise and the fact it was done in just three weeks.
A number of people had made a few comments and I wanted to share them with you.
1) They were glad they had the opportunity to do something to help them selves in the fight of this disease.
2) It allowed them to educate many people about our disease and the effects it has on our everyday lives.
3) The wish they had more time to circulate the petitions to get more signatures.
4) People also asked if we failed because we didn’t get the 20,000 thousand signature NPF said we need for them to use it.
So let me start by saying this. After to talking many people who started this effort we have decided to continue the drive. We will come up with a new deadline but will give adequate time to collect many more names.
We have not decided how to use the petitions yet. All we know is we will not use anyone name or address but are just compiling the numbers by state, city and zip code. Then we are plugging the representatives by zip code to get a distribution patent for possible use. That use is to be determined.
There are still a few people who told us they still have petitions but have yet to return them. If you have them please return them as soon as possible.
If you would like to get a copy of the petition to circulate then please PM or email me and I will get one to you ASAP.
