It is the powdered inner bark of the slippery elm tree.

If you read some of the threads and use the Search options (Advance Search is great), you will find lots of information regarding slippery elm as there is YEARS worth of info at this site.

Many of us use it and have seen good progress. The best threads are Clearing Up from Psoriasis, and Slippery Elm Results, Please Report. They are quite long but tell the story.

Some people have had quick results, and others take longer and some haven't seen much change. Most of us couple the slippery elm with a diet change, and all that info is here too.

Why don't you do some reading and I'm sure you will wind up with more questions.

By the way, welcome to the forum! And there really isn't much urgency here, we aren't doctors, and many of us have been here for years, as you will see. Kinda like we're in purgatory.

I wanted to add that most of use the NOW brand of SE. Take it first thing in the AM and again in the afternoon.
If you can't find it in a local store, I order from Baar.com
Get some American Saffron too. Makes a wonderful tea to sip after dinner.
