Hi Gimazz,
I don't think that we've met, so let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the Board! Nice to meet you. Here's a link to a very interesting discussion about the "spoon theory": http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/spoons.htm.
I hope this helps.

I came across this myself the other day, and found it a very good way to help explain some of the feelings that go along with many chronic diseases. I hope that it can help others to understand what it can be like to deal with these illnesses.

I think the spoon theory is a simple, visual way to convey a very complex issue. It explains the limited energy supply and the need for pacing ourselves, not overdoing it, resting when we need it, or, when we use "all of our spoons, and then some," that we HAVE to go to bed. It's about making choices every day that a lot of people don't think about. It's good for awareness, not to dwell on what we don't have and get down in the dumps, but to remind us that each spoon we DO have needs to count, to accomplish something, whether it's connecting with a friend in need, meditating, or doing an anonymous favor. I know that I'm more aware than ever, understand how important it is to be present, alert, pay attention....
sorry, this is probably WAY more than you wanted, I'm just in a place today where I treasure the people who make my life richer.

Thanks for the link to the "spoons". It certainly help explain things doesn't it.
I need to learn not to use up my spoons much too early in the day.
