Anyone with fibromyalgia symptoms try this posted by Lottiebay on the PA section?
"Pain meds and muscle relaxers are not much help for fibro. I have both PA and Fibro and the last visit to my Rheumy she suspects and will test for Osteo
One thing that will irritate Fibro more than anything is aspirin or anything with salicylic acid. One thing that will make it better is Guifenisen which is plain robitussin cough medicine.
Check out this site. I'm ready to try this treatment. It certainly can't hurt, and I haven't found anything else that helps so far."

I've just started the Guifensen protocol and have taken the necessary steps to get rid salyciates (hopefully I'm not missing any).

I went to the site and glanced through it real quick...I see that aloe vera has salicylates in it...so be warned anyone with fibro........I sent the link to a friend of mine that has it.... there is a long list of foods and otc's that have it inc. shampoos...I don't have fibro thank goodness...... I love aloe :p

Yup, no aloe vera allowed. Had to switch from my Desitin Creamy to plain CVS zinc oxide.

Redd you can still take your zinc and mix it with a S. free lotion, or cream...I have done that...it mixes well.... the zinc.

Never tried that, so far the 20% zinc oxide (Desitin Creamy is 10% zo with aloe vera) is working ok.

well if you ever want a stronger (40% zinc) try buying just the zinc oxide from the drugstore and mixing with glycerine (also in drugstore and said to be good for psoriasis) or/and some olive oil or vaseline or whatever you can use without the salycilites.

I haven't tried it yet myself I was all ready to go for it and found with trying to work on two houses seventy miles apart and getting ready to move it was impossible to keep track of everything and stay on a diet. I have promised myself that the first of October, when moving is done and settled. I'm embarking on a self improvement regime that includes the Firo diet and Ti Chi.
