New to Enbrel

Just started Enbrel this past Wednesday. I had no trouble with the injection, hope it helps. I'm still taking Prednisone, 5mgs., Methotrexate, 15 mgs. and now the Enbrel. I'm still very optimistic that this will all work together in dealing the the psoriatic arthritis. My psoriasis is not bad, had it for years. The pain and the fatigue for me are the biggest problems. It sure is a small world though. I was talking to someone at work today. She has just been diagnosed this past week with PA, she has had psoriasis for years and just now has had some bad foot pain. It was great to have someone close by to talk to. Thanks for letting me ramble on.

Hi! I just took shot #2 on Wed. I have severe p and pa. I can relate to the fatigue and pain. I am feeling almost normal today. My p on my legs is turning light pink. My arms are just white patches now. I haven't had to take a nap since I started e. I'm not in very much pain either. I hope it works as well for you.

I took my 3rd shot of Enbrel yesterday. My joints are a lot better than they were a week or so ago.
I have had P for 27 years and PA for 1 month. The PA came about when I discontinued the use of Methotrexate. Damn, that was painful. My joints became very sore and I had a tremendous amount of inflammation around my joints. My ankles/feet grew one shoe size where I couldn't even get into my shoes.
Anyway, the Enbrel seems to be kicking in and I'm hoping that it will now help my P (which I have on 80%) of my body. By the way, coming off the methotrexate brought about my serious flare up. I have just never done well with the meds in the Systemic line.
I hope the enbrel works for you.

That's great, Denise, and I'll sure want to hear how you do. I started a new thread to get info/questions gathered for my next rh appt. Will you continue taking mtx? Will you be tapering off the prednisone?
My derm told me I'm a prime candidate for Enbrel. I've been on mtx (15 mg) and prednisone since April and I felt pretty good when I got the big whammy of prednisone (started with 20 mg., stayed at 5 mg for 3 months) but since tapering down, now at 3 mg., I've had more fatigue than ever.
My derm said something about alternating? I'm not sure about the options but I'm hoping to follow along with you guys and start feeling better!
