Hello Fellow Psoriasis Sufferers,
I am heartened and at the same time overwhelmed by all of the strategies that have helped all of you. I just don't know where to start for my own healing process. After feeling that the medical profession has failed me, I want to use a combination of dietary changes, acupuncture, supplements, and cleansing and yet feel like there are so many, sometimes even conflicting, suggestions (and understand that this is because everyone is different!). I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN OVERSEE MY HEALING PROCESS IN THE PHILADELPHIA, NEW YORK OR NEW JERSEY AREA. Does anyone know if such a practitioner exists? Would it be a nutritionist specializing in psoriasis or a homepathic doctor?
PLEASE HELP, I cannot spend one more day feeling helpless and overwhelmed!

Welcome to the Board, maybe you could try the complementary and alternative section. I don't know much about it, and I live in the wrong area, but I hope something works for you.

I am fairly certain that you can look up naturopaths, homeopaths, acupuncturists or just about any alternative healer in your local yellow pages, and they will gladly take you on as a patient. Your money is green isn't it?
I did a quick search with physician last name "pagano" on the npf's physicians search list and came up empty. John Pagano is a chiropractor from Englewood Cliffs, NJ that specializes in treating psoriasis patients with alternative methods.
You may want to try here also. http://www.psoriasis.org/treatment/directory/index.php I am guessing that the NPF list will only yield physicians that have taken the time to join the Physician's directory. Good luck, but personally I would look for a board certified nutritionist to consult on matters of diet and nutrition. You may also want to run this by your dermatologist, he/she may have legitimate contacts in the alternative fields.
