I'll be traveling to New York on October 18th and staying for 10 days or so. I have plaque psoriasis for some 25 years and mostly approached this with wholistic methods for most of that time (I've been to the Dead Sea, been a vegetarian etc.). However, the last two years I have been using UVB narrow band and it has helped greatly.

I'm originally from New York but have been living in Santa Monica, Ca. since 1985. I have 4 brothers and a sister who are certainly to be called die-hard New Yorkers and wish to visit them.

I was thinking of not taking this trip because of P., then I thought well maybe someone in N.Y. (or Brooklyn where I'll actually be residing with my older brother and his family) might just have a UVB set up and wouldn't mind if I used it for 12 minutes 2X during my 10 day stay in N.Y.

I will be touring with my wife and taking in the sites. I surely am willing to compensate for a UVB treatment but don't wish to deal with new doctors because of the high cost and waiting around a doctor's office etc.

If anyone can or is willing to help please let me know.

You might want to try some uva at the tanners. If anything it will keep your skin conditioned for when you get back to your home treatment plan again.

Fred:

I hope you have some luck with finding a bed to use. As suggested above a tanning bed might be something to use just in case.

I know how you feel, I am doing the lights and make travel plans that are short because I don't want to be away from them for too long. I might have to visit my folks for a week and I think I would probably do the tanning bed. To be honest I know the strength of my UVB lights and I would be nervous to stand in front of someone else's lights, what if they are stronger and I burn? I am a fair redhead and can burn easy. Just food for thought as they say.

Best of luck whatever you do and have a wonderful visit with your family!!
