I wonder how it would work in a salad dressing? Would you get the same benifit that you're looking for?

salad dressing is a great idea and it wouldn't sacrifice the benefits -- pour it on straight and sprinkle some feta you'll have yourself a culinary delight!

Karen,
Apple Cidar Vinager and EVOO (Extra virgin olive oil), mixed with Mrs. Dash and a little salt is a wonderful salad dressing. Especially on your sweeter salads that have apples, date, walnuts etc. in them.

Apple cider vinegar
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away" (the dentist too!) - is an oft quotation which should not be considered as just an obsolete "Old Wives Tale", as there is more than meets the eye in these axioms of yore. Apples are among the most health-giving fruits available as they contain a host of nutritious properties viz: Phosphorous, Cholerine, Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium, Sulphur, Iron, Fluorine, Silicon, plus many trace elements ....... and all of these are found in PURE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Amongst other things, cider vinegar is very effective in detoxicating various organs in the body together with the blood stream. Hence it is a purifier, as it has a means of breaking down fatty, mucous and phlegm deposits within the body. It therefore, promotes the health of the vital organs of the body e.g. kidneys, bladder, liver etc., by preventing an excessively alkaline urine. Cider vinegar also helps oxidate the blood which consequently prevents the blood from becoming too thick and gluey, which gives rise to a strained heart and blood vessels resulting in high blood pressure. Cider vinegar also promotes digestion, assimilation and elimination and it neutralizes any toxic substance taken into the body. There have been a number of instances where people who had taken a mixture of cider vinegar and water before a meal were unaffected by diarrhea, or digestive upsets, while their companions who ate the same meal were. Hence the cider vinegar seemed to neutralize the harmful substances in the food eaten.

Vinegar is also a good cleaner,,,works great on windows, appliances, etc. and you're not breathing fumes from chemicals!

I like Braggs apple cider vinegar it is not as tart...mellower, I think, (sold in health store only or online)I like Bragg's too. It doesn't have any sulfites in it, so it's safe for me to use in salad dressings, etc. (I have a sulfite allergy.) Here's a link to their website: http://www.bragg.com/. (My one complaint about their website is that, unlike some other websites, it doesn't have a "find a retailer" function that lets you find a store in your area that sells Bragg's products. Here's a link to an example of what I'm talking about: http://www.worldpantry.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/naturesgate/findastore.d2w/report.)

Mike...any health store carries Bragg's.... that's the only place I've ever seen their product.......never in a supermarket...at least in our area! don't you have health food stores in that big city? :D

Not everyone knows where their local health food store is. That's why I think that Bragg's website would be much improved if they added a "find the retailer" function. (It would be nice to know, for example, if a store like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's carried Bragg's products.)
don't you have health food stores in that big city?I'm very spoiled because there's actually two health food stores within walking distance of my apartment. One of them is in a former Woolworth's and is quite large by health food store standards. I'm in there all the time. They carry a large selection of Bragg's products. I haven't been in the smaller store in a very long time (they've actually moved since the last time that I was there), so I'm not sure if they carry Bragg's products. (I'd be surprised if they didn't.) I found Bragg's several years ago when I saw it at the store that I frequent.

I like to take a tablespoon of natural apple cider vinegar, a tablespoon of raw honey, and a tablespoon of lemon juice in a cup of hot water. Makes a tasty drink. Sometimes I also throw in a tablespoon of Benefiber, some green tea extract, a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, a tablespoon of ginger juice - any or all of the aforementioned that I'm in the mood for. Yum! - Bev

I was reading on an alternative site this morning and they were talking about ACV and one of the fellows posting mentioned...... "never drink white distilled vinegar" as it is made from petroleum distillates! other than that it is fine for cleaning as Braggs would be too expensive.
