I noticed the author gave some recipes from the book "Miracle Foods From The Bible" and one gave slippery elm.......now mind your bible....folks!
This dessert sounds really good almost like a Waldorf salad! throw in some Manuka honey and zowie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Keeping the Passover” is a ceremony that has largely remained unchanged for 30 centuries. Jesus had a ceremonial meal that included bitter herbs, unleavened bread, lamb, parsley, and a dessert called charoset (or haroset).
The dessert is a mixture of chopped apples, walnuts, raisins, dates, cinnamon, wine and honey. Medicinal plants were mixed in with this dish, which could relieve ailments like heart pain, dissolve gallstones/kidney stones, boost an underactive thyroid, and make warts, herpes, acne, psoriasis disappear.
See that pot,,,that's my chicken soup cooking.............. :p

Honey was common in Bible History. It was the primary source of sugar for the ancient Israelites.

I use to have a book about the foods mentioned in the Bible. I'll see if I can find it.
People did get sick back then but there are a lot of things today that they didn't get.
Chemicals,,,maybe? Fresh is better!
Gran,,,yes i'm sure but it's amazing what they used to treat illnesses... Let us know when you find the book...
