I gotta share this with folks who understand.

I quit smoking and drinking June 1, 2005. I have been going to the gym and doing a couple of miles every morning since June 2. I would always have to wipe the flecks off of the treadmill when I was done. It is black so they really show up. It was embarrassing just because people would stare when you were wiping the mystery specks off and once in a while you get a look of disgust. I ahve been doing NB UVB since end of Sep. When I was done walking today I went to wipe off the treadmill and there was nothing there to wipe off. No flecks, flakes or specks. I damn near cried. The lights are working great for me so far. Just had to tell someone.

Freddy,

I am sooooo happy for you! Its funny how something so little to others is huge to us.

I started the UVB light in August and had great results, I am pretty well 98% clear-yeah! A few stubborn spots that just won't go away but other than that I love the lights!

Continue to enjoy and by the way good for you for getting healthy!

How long did it take you folks to totally clear on the UVB NB treatments? I have been going a bit more than a month three times a week and am down to red barely "feelable" spots from big bad raised flaky plaques..

seems like 6-8 weeks...in addition, i was going 4 days per week to speed up the process. a young lady in our support group went with guttate when she was like 5 and it took her about 6 months. I think with kids they are very conservative with the treatment, me on the other hand, I tell them to give me more.

I commend you for your efforts in getting your health in order. I quit drinking just about sixteen years ago and its a lot easier to deal with the P without the bottle. Continued good luck with staying away from the bottle and the smokes.

Glad to hear that the UVB works for you. I underwent PUVA for many, many years and although my P cleared - I am sufferring with some of the long term impacts of skin cancer. Was it worth it? Yes...

Quality of life means a whole lot more to me than quantity of life. The PUVA, creams/ointments, and pills/injections got me to this point - the age of biologics. They work tremendously for me.

Cheers,
Michael
