Hi again,

It's fast approaching our November 14th support group meeting. We are looking for a nice turnout. We are having 2 speakers visiting us this month and are looking forward to hearing from them.

Julie Geisseler is a New York State liscensed mental health counselor who has worked in many fields including depression.

Elizabeth Wahlig Ph.D. is working in the Univiersity of Rochester Medical Center in the Dermatology and Psycitry Department in which they are forming a pyscodermatology department.

We are really looking forward to this meeting and hope to learn more and get together for education and support.

Hope to see as many as came make it on Monday night. For more information go to : psoriasis.org.support/Rochester

How do you start a support group? There is nothing in the Poughkeepsie, New York area and I may be interested in learning more. Good luck tomorrow!

Hi Samantha,

You can find information on how to start a support group in your area here: http://support.psoriasis.org/home/start/. Good luck if you decide to give it a try. It's a challenge, but very rewarding. :)

Hi Samantha,

That would be great if you could get a support group started. Kim has given you a link to help you find out more information about one. It is alot of work, but very rewarding and the NPF helps you out allot!! They have training and information for you all along the way. The are very orginaized and get terrific ideas and are there for you with any questions. If would be great to see more groups starting in New York. For awhile it was only 2 groups in all the state and now I think we are up to 4-5 groups. Please feel free to pm me with any thoughts or help I can offer.

Sandy
