I just wanted to thank you all for you support in the past two months, of course many of you know that I was 90% covered entirely and saw myself to the ER just 6 weeks ago...
It is still hanging about-- a lot on my back, speckled on my chest, and big sections of both legs, but with the support from this site I got the gumption to get back running and kept my goal of running the NY marathon.
And no doubt ran a personal best by 15 minutes: 3 hrs., 49 min!!
Not only that, I went out slow-- I was 16,000th place at 13.1 miles-- and then passed 10,000 people by race's end.
Sorry, I didn't inform any you New Yorkers from the site of my presence out there, that would be my only regret, but I just wanted to thank everyone on the site for helping through this - remember, this is still MY FIRST BREAKOUT of my life and I'm 32 years old... I was freaking out to say the least.
But I think the support I got from here is evidenced by ther results above! Thanks!

Congrats! You're story gave me goose bumps and tears in my eyes.

Good for you Scott. I had always wanted to run the NYC marathon. I have done half marathons but never a full 26 miles. I think if I had did that, my knees would explode!
I am glad that this site gave you the inspiration. I just wish I could have been there on the side lines cheering you on!! :)

Hey Scott,
PJ here. Great job! I am so pleased to see that you are doing so much better than when we all first were in touch. Isn't life better without serious disease? Personally, I know that it is, and I am very happy for you.
Keep up the good work of living as you choose.
Regards,
MikeK

You have no idea how happy I am to hear that you felt well enough to travel 3,000 miles (and three time zones) and run the race. The fact that you were able to do run a personal best makes your news even sweeter. Way to go!

Congratulations on your perseverance and strength, Scott! I'm sure running that marathon was a highlight of your life, and to have been able to have done it after being so severely ill so recently is absolutely amazing! :) It just proves that when you put your mind to something that means so much to you, you can overcome some very serious obstacles. The world needs more people with your courage and fortitude. :)

That is absolutely wonderful! Congrats! My 19 year old ran the Chicago Marathon last year, and wanted to run it again to try to qualify for the Boston this year, but there was such a turn-out they closed registration early. Boy was she upset!
Just standing in the sidelines, cheering as everyone goes by is such an up-lifting experience, I can't imagine what it must be like to actually be running.
Way to go!

I am impressed with anyone that runs a marathon. I just started working out again after many years of being lazy. This is inspirational. Not sure if I'll ever do a marathon but a 5K someday soon is not out of the question.
thanks for the post and congratulations on your accomplishment! You earned it!

Scott,
AWESOME!!! And fast too!
Good luck the rest of the way I'm rooting for you to get clear all the way. Remember, since this is your first experience with P, it may be your ONLY experience with it! That's what I keep hoping myself.

In New York City traffic I can't drive the 26+ miles in that time. Way to go. Got to be so proud of yourself. I know everyone here is.
Great job.

Thanks for all the responses! Yeah, I felt great, I was very surprised, and quite elated.
Starting phototherapy soon and will keep you all posted on progress, I want to lick this thing, at least put it in remission. We'll see...
Thanks all for the support thus far.

I personally think it is by far the best treatment model for plaque psoriasis and most likely the safest to keep your body in tune to run another marathon.
