Hi Manda,
I use Vicks Vapor Rub on my hands and feet at night. It has worked better than any other stuff out there has. It moisturizes and soothes the pain, and even takes away the redness. Another one that may help is MG217. Its a coal tar salve that you rub on. The only bad thing about it is the smell, and it stains, so you have to wear gloves and socks with it, but it does help. I also you Spa cream with dead sea minerals in it. Some people swear by Virgin olive oil and baking soda soaks. Just make a pan of warm water and pour some in and soak.
The main idea with P is to keep the skin moisturized. Never let it get dry, or the skin will crack and hurt like hell. Might even bleed,so try different things and see what feels the best to you. Good luck with it.

Thanks Patty,

Yea my hands are rather dry and cracked at the moment. I've been using Cetephill lotion, and also Eucerin lotion and ointment, but no luck, I'm going to try the Vicks tonight! Thanks again!!!

I really like Neutrogena T-gel. My scalp psoriasis can get seriously out of control, but it seems to keep in check relatively.

as far as non-prescription stuff, i like Burt's Bee's lemon hand salve...

I use the TGEL for shampoo and also Hemp shampoo and cond.

I like to use Aveeno daily lotion... the one with the green cap.

I tried the vicks vapor rub, I ended up itching like crazy and it started burning... so I stopped using that one.

Someone got me a pair of gloves that has a weird inside to them ( I think they got them from like bathworks or something, one of those places in the mall) and if my hands are cracking and dry I'll sleep with them on and I'll add some good ol fashion K-Y Jelly.

I use to use the MG217... I think I'll pick some more up.

I am using Chickweed Healing Salve on my cracked and bleeding P. It has cleared almost completely from my hands. I also have a spray bottle of 100%Filtered Jojoba oil that I spray on after I apply the salve. The jojoba oil is very close to the natural oil in our skin and it absorbs really well. No greasy feeling.

Works for me!

I really like Vaseline's "Deep Moisture Creamy Petroleum Jelly". It claims it adds 250% moisture...I like the fact it's a combo of a creamy version of petrolatum and has Vitamin E in it. I can put it on in the morning, and still be mostly comfortable by the end of work.

for the hands maybe aveeno?? im not sure, but i know my mom uses it A LOT! umm, for the scalp as ppl have mentioned t-gel, t-sal, but out one that i don't think ppl have mentioned is Head n' Sholders. its a lot easer for me then t-gel and t-sal, cuz u don't have to wait, or at least it dosn't tell you to wait. less time in the shower = less pain. so i hope i was of help.

I have had good luck with lotion called Body Drench. I have only been able to find it at tanning salons. It's a little expensive but it last forever and works great. The only shampoo that I can use that helps me is Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo. It's the best stuff I've ever used. Hope this info helps.

Head and Shoulders does nothing for Psoriasis nor is it designed for Psoriasis. If it works for you good but that maybe that's because what you have in your scalp isn't all Psoriasis. But for any scalp shampoo to work it has to soak into the scales to get to the effected area, no matter what the instructions say....lathering and then rinsing just isn't enough time for it to soak in.
