Help me, please

Hello, I'm new here and wondered if someone could help? For over 4 years, I've had these 2 bumps on my middle and thumb knuckle. I've been to the derm a zillion times (telling me..."it's dermatitis", "warts", "excema"), given a zillion types of cortisone. I just went back and he thinks it's psoriasis and injected cortisone and gave me another ointment: "Dovobet". I am at a loss and don't know what to think.

Nothing has worked in the past...has anyone experienced anything like this?

The best advise I can give you is STAY AWAY FROM CORTIZONE SHOTS FOR PSORIASIS!!!!!!!!!!! I was very badly covered with placque. Steroid shots made it 10x worse and I developed pustular psoriasis on my palms, soles and scalp. Find a new derm!!!!!!!! Oh-and hang in there, I try to keep my chin up, or else it can hang pretty low. My experience has been that a lot of derms really are clueless. And you MUST stay 1 step ahead of them. I agree, it looks like you need to find a better derm. They can do a biopsy for psoriasis, I believe. It would be very important to know what you are dealing with before you try a treatment. It's sad, really, how hard it can be to find a competent, knowledgable dermatologist. Good luck!

I would definitely do a punch biopsy - it's quick, relatively painless, and pretty conclusive. That ought to bring some relief to you.
