So I found a mole above my ankle in the middle of my calf. I'm going to the derm for my monthly check up on the 19th, so we'll see if its more cancer!

Also, on the 20th I'm going to see a woman my sister-in-law took my nephew b/c of his Ezcema and he is alll better. Anyways! Its a natural cures thing, I figure what the heck?! I've tried all I can concidering my condition. So.... maybe this will work!!!!!!!!

These past few days have been really hard for me, to the point where I broke down. So I'm hoping I'll find some sort of relief. WISH ME LUCK!!!

Good Luck to you. I've tried a million and one things before. I hear natural herbs and medications help too. You just have to be patient.

Hey Manda,
I live in San Antonio which isn't too far from you. I'm impressed by your vigilance and the fact that you found the new mole so quickly. Good job. Those of us in Texas have had quite a bit of sun exposure, and watching for the skin cancers is so important while we deal with this psoriasis. Don't feel alone when you say you broke down. I'll bet that most of us have mourned the loss of the way our skin used to be before P. (and the way our lives were before P) Seems to me that we go through the grieving stages to deal with the emotional aspects of having this "condition". When my flares are bad and keeping me awake, these message boards sure help to find others to talk to who understand just how it feels to have skin that hurts and needs extra tender loving care. I'm glad you are getting a second opinion. I did, and what a difference it made in my long term outlook. There is hope to get this "condition" in a manageable state. It just takes time and a darn good dermatologist. Hang in there. We're thinking of you.

Thanks Ann! And the funny thing is, I'm as white as white can be, I'm Italian, and in my family we're all VERY light skinned w/ dark hair (too bad mines balck! :( ) I never wear shorts, just cause I dont like to, and I'm rarely outside because if I step outside w/o sunglasses on, I instantly get my Cronic Migrain! Sooo.. it sucks to live in TX and not even be able to enjoy it! But I guess I should have noticed the mole before, but somehow I missed it, and I KNOW its never been there before. But we'll see, hope for the best, expect the worst huh? lol

Thats why I would love to do light treatments but cant, skin cancer, sucks! Darn P! Darn Melanoma! ahhaha I try to be strong but yea, I have my days, I surely am a Yo-Yo!!

Hi Manda,
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and hoping its just a new mole and nothing more. I tan easily and don't have white skin unless its winter and I'm up north. I still have to watch for unusual moles though. I had just over 80 UVB treatments a few years ago. It did work temporarily, but now, since I had those treatments and I'm currently taking cyclosporene, I have to watch for skin cancers too. I can't have sun exposure either now just because of the fact that I had the UVB treatments. What a challenge we have living in this sunny state. I think we are lucky though, because we do have great medical centers here. I'm glad that we live close to some world class physicians; which only helps us to try to get all of this into remission and behind us eventually. 2006 just has to be a better year for our skin.

I live in San Antonio too. You really do have to watch out for the sun here in Texas. I personally stay out of it.Good luck Manda, I hope its nothing.

Hi Patty,
Well here we all are in Texas and we haven't even met! The support group for San Antonio meets at 7 p.m. which is too late in the day for me, plus being on the cyclosporene keeps me away from public places as much as possible in the cold and flu season. Do any of the members ever get together for lunch or brunch on a Saturday? I'm working full time and by the end of the day, I'm too tired to go anywhere which is why the support group meeting is out of the question right now. I sure would like to meet some of the group and stay in touch with them. Any ideas?
