I don't know about toxic chemicals. Mine was induced by toxic people.
What chemicals and how is the exposure occurring?

Hi Nessa,
Welcome nice to have you here. To answer your question I remeber a thread a while back. (I cant find it at the moment but if I do I will post a link.) but there were ones in that thread that said that certin chemicals such as hash cleansers and things like that would trigger P in them.
This is not to say that the chemicals are the cause of the P, just the the trigger of sufface symptoms.

The toxic substance I was referring to is PD-680, a dry cleaning solvent I used while in the U.S. Navy. My psoriasis did not appear until I came in to contact with that stuff.

Hi Nessa,
Welcome to the Board! Nice to meet you. I'm sorry to hear that your psoriasis may have been triggered by some chemicals that you came into contact with while you were serving our country. I not sure if this is the post that David (Raynard_the_Fox) is referring to, but Roger (Sooner_Rog) reported that he suspects that his psoriasis was triggered when he was in the army andspilled some serious epoxy resin crap on me during a repairSource: http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showthread.php?p=53075&highlight=troop+clinic#post53075.
Sadly, we haven't heard from Roger in a very long time. I often wonder how is doing.
I hope helps.
Good luck. Keep us posted and please don't be a stranger.

There is a reason that the Navy stopped using PD-680. It is toxic period. There is nothing saying that your exposure didn't trigger something in your auto-immune response - which is what psoriasis is.
I would assume that your exposure was a contributor if not the cause.
Sorry - but welcome to the NPF.
