Any one know how long Humira takes to start working on finger nails? I have pa and very, very mild p. I have had 2 shots already and my third is due on feb 28th. Any help would be appreciated. On a different topic, when is chd? I am a US Capitol police officer and I work on the hill.

Welcome to the board.

I am taking my first Humira shot today actually. Humira seems to work very fast with alota people. Most notice improvement after a few days of the first shot. Typically with all biologics tho, I think they say it can take up for three months so hang in there.......hopefully you'll start seeing improvement soon.

Hi Itchy-trigger-finger,

Welcome to the Board. Nice to meet you.

Good luck with the Humira. I hope that it turns out to be your wonder drug.

I don't know the answer your question about Humira and finger nails, but Capital Hill Day is this Sunday and Monday, Feb 26th and 27th. (We'll be meeting with our representatives on Monday.) Stop by and stay hello.

Also, some of us are getting together at the Dubliner on Saturday night. It would be great if you could join us. The details can be found in this thread:

Keep us posted! And, please don't be a stranger.

I am glad you posted right before we get to the Hill on Monday. I am sorry as I don't have an answer about Humira, but my guess is that because nails just grow and they don't shead per say, I would imagine it would take several months to see an improvement, just for the fact you new nail has to grow in. Hope you can make it for dinner with us on Sat. night!

Till then take care,

Deborah

itchy-trigger-finger,
Hello and welcome! I have been on enbrel for 6 months now. My finger nails have taken the longest to see improvement. Most of them are doing better but a few I still have some problems with.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I will try to make it to CHD on monday, but I'am on injury leave at this time and I doubt my Sgt. would appreciate me walking around the Hill if I'am supossed to home. I tore my Patella tendon taking someone to jail who didnt want to go. Unfortunatly, I have a prior engagement on Saturday, but the Dubliner is a great place( done my share of drinking there!! ) Next door to that is the Irish Times, also a good place. Good luck on the Hill, and dont let my fellow officers with the automatic weapons at the Capitol scare you, we are good people!!

Hi Glenn, and welcome!

Looks like I will be switching to Humira from Enbrel in early March, primarily for my PA. I have many pitted fingernails, and Enbrel has helped only slightly. Sorry I don't have an answer for you yet. Good luck to you with Humira, looking forward to relief from it myself.

I coming in from Michigan for CHD. It would be great to meet you, but please don't jeopardize your job (sorry about your injury). And thanks for the work you do at the Capitoll, by the way!

Welcome to the boards, and keep us posted...
