Hi everyone! I am new to this group and I'm grateful you're here. Thank you. I am noticing some things about these posts and have a question. I'm seeing different group postings, ie; youth, singles, caregivers, etc. Is there an over 40/50 group? I'm thinking that those of us in this age group may have had P and PA for many years and I would like to talk with someone who has literally grown up with P, like me. I go way back to cortizone injections and three day saran wraps. Yikes! Can anyone relate? We've come a long way baby! Just not far enough...yet. Thanks!

There are plenty of us over 40 people on here. I have found that I've learned just as much from the more seasoned members to the youngest ones. I dont know, I kinda feel everyone here has something to give from their personal experiences. I fit in that group, for me it feels over the hill.

Hi Doodles,

I'm 49. I was diagnosed with p in the Spring of 1964. I was 7. I literally don't remember NOT having psoriasis. It seems like it's always been a part of me. My psoriasis has always been on the mild side (it only started to spread fairly recently) so I never had to get cortisone injections. But I do remember when coal tar was ONLY treatment that was available. I can certainly relate to three day saran wrap treatments and being teased at school.

Ok, I feel so left out. I'm only 39 and have had p since I was 9. I also remember having to put the stinky coal tar all over my body. Back then I really didn't understand what the heck was wrong with me. I remember my scalp was so bad that my mom would put baby oil in my hair at night. The next day she would comb the dead skin off my scalp then wash my hair with that stinky shampoo. I'm sure I smelled real good.
