Hello new to message board

hello everyone. new to message board here. i have p on scalp[ severe ] on elbow, leg, back and on privates.starting mtx monday the question i have is it safe to mix beer with mtx and what are the circumstances if i do???? really like a night out with the boys every now and again but don't like the p.!!!!!!!!! any advice would be helpful. thanks

Welcome to the boards! Sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with your p. Glad you found the forums, though, this is a great place for information and support!

Mtx is a strong systemic medication used in the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis, as well as pa. You should not have any alcohol while taking it. Your Dr will run regular blood tests to check for liver toxicity while you are on it.

Many people who are candidates for mtx are also good candidates for some of the newer biologic treatments. Those are much more expensive, and the risks are different, but you can drink.

Hello and welcome to the boards. I once has considered going on mtx. My doctor did tell me that drinking would be out. I never did try the mtx. I decided to give enbrel a try.
