As you may recall, last Tuesday I saw Dr. "Insensitive" who gave me a quick diagnosis of psoriasis and pretty much dismissed me. This morning I went to a doctor who is recommended on the site. He has a psoriasis clientele of over 100 patients. I should've seen him in the first place. He told me I do not have psoriasis, but nummular eczema. He even checked my skin in other areas, something the other doctor did not do. I have been depressed and in tears over the psoriasis diagnosis, mostly because I was treated with such indifference. I just want to tell you all, especially if you are newly diagnosed and don't feel like you were treated well by the diagnosing doctor to please get a second opinion from someone who has a good sized psoraisis clientele.

Lynn,
Congratulations. I agree. When you are told you have an incurable disease, a second opinion is in order. Sorry that you have eczema (which I used to have), but so glad that it hasn't gone into psoriasis. Take good care of yourself.
Best wishes.

Im so sorry your first doctor was so rude, this makes me so p .......off, when you go to a hairdresser and they do a terrible job we take it, and walk away. Any time my GP sends me to a doctor and the bedside manner is unacceptable, I tell him, and suggest that he not send any other patients there. I even told one derm that I went to that he was arrogant and rude, the problem that I went for was IMPORTANT to me, and I didnt like the feeling that I was bothering him, and if it was such a bother maybe he should consider changing his occupation, and walked out. He was with a student doctor, so that felt even better, and I didnt hesitate to tell his fellow colleagues what I thought of him. Im just venting, glad you found someone else that is going to help you and is more professional. :)

Lynn,
I will take it if you're not going to use it! I just picked up my prescriptions from yesterday at the pharmacy, and for two tubes of Dovonex and two cans of olux foam, my copay was $235. And I'm COVERED in spots, so it's not going to go very far. I'm freaking out here! (Only thing is, I'm confused as to how much dovonex I'm allowed to use... it seems like he said to only use one tube a week, and if i'm supposed to use it twice a day it'll probably be gone in two or three days max. I have a call in to the doc to make sure that's right.)
Glad that you don't have psoriasis, though! it's no fun!

Just so you know, it is illegal to sell or give away prescription medications.

I guess I was just so happy to have found a new doctor who actually knows his stuff that I sort of forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. I actually wanted to use it to write a nasty message on the first doctor's window after what he put me through! HAHA

If more patients do what you did, we may have a whole new attitude from the "ALMIGHTY" doctors that you saw. The next time you run across one, (NOT with your car) ask him or her how many patients he can actually keep from dying. Watch him get red, not only in the face, but all over.
