Hello evryone, I have had 3 shots of humira already and the pain from my pa goes away a few hours later. I'am on a bi-monthly schedule and by the 10th day the pain returns. Also my nail P is not clearing. Is enbrel any better?? Any one used both and beteer results wth one or the other?

Hi Glenn,
One of the most frustrating things about psoriasis (and psoriatic arthritis) is that what works for one person may or may not work for another. More people who post here use Enbrel then Humira. There's several people who went on Humira after Enbrel either didn't work or stopped working.
I'm not aware of anyone who started out on Humira and switched to Enbrel. That being said, however, I'm not aware of any reason why you can't switch to Enbrel if you're not pleased with the results that you're seeing from Humira. Give it another couple weeks. These meds sometimes take awhile to kick in. If you're still not happy, then discuss making the switch to Enbrel with your doctor.
I hope this helps.
Feel better!
Mike
Edit: P.S. Here's a link to a thread that was started by Doug (dmedonis): http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18922. He recently made the switch from Enbrel to Humira. I figured that some of the responses that he's getting will be helpful to you.

Glenn,
You might be a perfect candidate for a double does of humira. There are plenty of people out there that take one shot every week of humira because they are in your exact shoes.
If humira works for 7-10 days then I wouldn't start looking to switch to enbrel because even though it may work better, it also may not work at all. I, personally, would shoot for the one shot a week humira schedule first and then evaluate in 2 or 3 months.

Hi all,
I just got back from the Rheumatologist's office. I am on Enbrel 50mg once weekly and doing pretty well. I am not in complete remission yet (after 6 months) so my doctor and I are discussing switching to Humira. He told me that there is a 70/30 rule - 70% of people who switch between the two drugs will do better while 30% will not do as well. Apparently that works both ways. If you start on Humira and it isn't completely working, then Enbrel will have a 70% chance of giving you an improved condition and vice versa. Just thought I would share that information. Anyone out there agree or disagree with these statistics.
