Hi all,
First, let me say thanks for all the info everyone here posts. Haven't posted in a long, long time, but read often.

Just wondering what ever happened to Amevive? Unless I have missed something, I just don't hear anything about this drug. Did Enbrel take it over?

Have had P for 12+ years. Started out with a few spots and has spread.
Was on methotrexate until last June when I decided I needed a change in my life, quit my job (and insurance!) and moved to another State. Mtx was working wonders for me with no side effects. Problem is now I have no insurance and my old derm won't extend refills without seeing him (1200 miles away) which I totally understand.

Anyone have suggestions? I see there are a number of posts in getting helpfor the under-insured.

Thanks again for all of your wonderful help.

Tom

Hi Motboy,

Amevive is still around...I'm currently taking my second round. I had my frist round last fall with about 60% results. I then went on Raptiva and thought it was my wonder drug...it did not work out as I had too many side effects. So, here I am again on Amevive.

Do you have a new derm in your area? I'm sure you could get some referrals on the site from people whoi live nearby.

Best of luck!
Nicole

Biogen, the maker of Amevive just sold off the worldwide rights to Astellas, Japan's 2nd largest pharm company. The good news is that for those of us using Amevive that Biogen will continue making it in at least the near term so supply, availability and consistency should remain the same.
