I live in Northeast ohio...had P for about 8 years...I woke up one moring in college, covered with red splotches (guttate was the verdict)...anyway, went to a derm once, but they did nothing but turn me away...I have had a bad taste in my mouth and have basically simply done tanning and now bought a panasol II, but this forum has opened my eyes to the fact that I can do more...
It seems over the last year the P is getting worse and spreading, painful cracking and burning...I try to use DERMAREST, but it adds up (the cost) and it burns instnatly when I apply..
ANYONE THAT CAN RECOMMEND A GOOD DERMATOLOGIST IN THE NE OHIO AREA WOULD BE APPRECIATED...I want to try to do everything I can to battle the condition!

Hello,
I have been to several derms here in cleveland, from methotrexate, dovonex, clobetasol, psorcon, olux, and about 600 otc's I have still had little luck. First question is your insurance, you gotta have it to get good treatment, it is hell out of pocket, personally the best thing that has worked for me this past year is, drink a helluva lot of purified water( i drink about 6 liters per day) take fishoil capsules (2-3 daily) and try to get sun when it is out there. My body is still pretty much covered with the redness, but the previous mentioned things decreased my 'irritation' by about 50%.
Associates in dermatology is the largest in the area, UH has a renowned skin clinic with clinical trials, do your googling and you will find options, personally I gave up on having a dermatologist, and am trying to do it myself....that way I will have noone to blame? although it ain't easy some days, your severity can really dictate your treament & success ratio.
