I just got back from my first visit to the Rhumie Dr in a couple of yrs. Thankfully they only charged me $70 for the visit...they gave me Medicare rates. I had some x-rays of my fands and feet and he noticed my toes are getting "sausage like". He also had me go for a blood test...just checking my liver and kidney functions as he wants me back on Meth (fine with me I can't stand living in pain anymore) He want me on Enbrel and knows I have no insurance. Are any of you on Wyeths "Patient Assistance" program for Enbrel? I also applied to Wyeth for my effexor but haven't heard back from them yet.
Thanks
L

Hi Kcobain,

I don't think that we've met, so let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the Board! Nice to meet you.

Enbrel's patient assistance program is called the ENcourage Foundation. Several people who post here were able to get assistance from them. Several other people who post here were able to get Enbrel for free thanks to a program called www.needymeds.com. Links to their stories (and information about other assistance programs that people have either told me about or that have been discussed on the board) can be found in this thread:http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12379.

I hope this helps.

Mike

Hello Kcobain. Sounds like you found a wonderful rheumatologist with compassion who will give you a self-pay rate. Sorry to read that your PA has been progressing and hopefully Mtx will at least slow it down for now. Hope you can find disability insurance or some program through your state insurance commissioner for people with pre-existing severe conditions. Maybe the Arthritis Foundation can give you some tips for insurance issues in your state.
Best of luck and hope the mtx works.
