Ive heard this rumor where crustaceans such as shrimp, lobsters are bad for P. It causes you to itch more. Same thing goes for eggs.. egg plant? Is this seriously true? Some doctor told my parents when i was diagnosed at the age of 5 and ever since they avoided such foods i am now 18 and i dont believe that. Just to be on the safe side... is this tru?

I have read that dairy, meat and shell fish (bottom feeders) should be avoided if you have p. I am not sure about egg plant. It's no rumor. Some people find that the foods they eat (or don't eat) can effect their p. Others, not so much. I'm not up for giving up my eggs, meat or milk, but I suppose I would if that was all I had left to try. Deirdre Earles book "Your Healing Diet" might be something worth reading.

Hi,
I've yet to have any MD tell me to aviod any foods or food groups for psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis. And I've asked many. But do eat healthy!
What you could do would be to aviod those foods for two weeks then add them back into your diet to see if you can substantiate any differences.
Eggs and eggplant are two different classes of foods. Altho I do make a killer eggplant parm and drag the eggplant thru an egg wash. :) It hasn't made any difference in my psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
Eat, drink and be merry....drink water because your underage! I have read scientific journals where alcohol can bother " some " people with psoriasis.
Have a good day!

It might be a good idea to get a blood allergy test done from your doc.....I never would have said I had any allergies, but because I had itching my doctor suggested I have one done...turned out there were 12 foods I was sensitive to....one was milk (which meant cheese, yogurt, and anything with milk in it!) I gave up all 12 of the foods and the itching left just as fast!
Dr. Pagano and others say to keep away from the nightshade family of foods!
which are eggplant, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers (not black) and tobacco!
you can do a search on "Nightshades" in google........
