View Full Version : Artificial Sweetners
Does anyone here suspect that they have gotten psoriasis from consuming a lot of artificial sweetners? Is there any research that has supported it? I only have it on my scalp and I'm wondering if all the artificial sweetners I've consumed over the years aren't to blame. Any response to this would be appreciated! :) Thanks!

In my case, I'd say no.
I got P at 8 years old and we were not allowed much in the way of fruit boxes, soda, candy, etc. I consumed so much milk and orange juice that I should have had my own orange tree and cow. The most common thing I hear from my family, that after my car accident, I got P almost immediately while / after healing up from it.

I haven't seen anything specifically addressing psoriasis, but in general, artificial sweeteners aren't good. Even something such as Splenda isn't secreted so you have to wonder, where does it go? I use Xylitol whenever possible. I do drink diet beverages which contain nutra sweet, but I try to not drink more than one a day and drink more water. I will sweeten my water with juice if I feel like really want something sweet.
