Does anyone know some world renown dermatologists or hospital organizations known for psoiasis. I am from the Cleveland area and the clinic here is cardiac specialty and not so much derm. I need some faster treatment, my hands are about to fall off.
Thanks

Hi Aorta,

You might want to try the Cleveland Clinic. Their website lists two doctors who state in their profiles that they treat psoriasis: http://www.clevelandclinic.org/staff/sdssearch.asp?OrgLevel=Main+Campus+and+Family+Heal th+Centers&DeptName=Dermatology&LName=&Sinterests=psoriasis&CCFDir=Search&extra=.

One of the doctors on the NPF's medical board ( http://www.psoriasis.org/aboutus/inside/medical_board.php), Dr. Neil J. Korman is located in the Cleveland area. Here's a copy of his listing from the NPF's Physician's Directory (http://www.psoriasis.org/treatment/directory/index.php).

Neil Korman, M.D., PH.D.

The NPF's physican's directory is basically a list of doctor that have contacted the NPF and expressed interest in treating psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis. It's not an endorsement by the NPF, but it's a great place to start.

The fact that Dr. Korman is on the NPF's medical board is encouraging, so you might want to start with him. That being said, there is a doctor in New Jersey, Dr. Jerry Bagel, who is also on the NPF's medical board. I live in New Jersey and, from what I've heard, people who've seen Dr. Bagel either love him or hate him -- there's no in between. Hopefully, that isn't the case with Dr. Korman and he'll be the perfect doctor for you.

I hope this helps.

Mike
