A few weeks ago, I pulled out my pre-filled enbrel syringe and found the needle had been bent ( a couple PMs to fellow users on this board and the problem was fixed). This problem has also been discussed in chat between several users and we figured it was due to the rubber cap that protects the needle ( i.e., the rubber cap not being sturdy enough).
I guess it was a common problem, because today I opened my new box of enbrel to discover they have added an additional needle cap made of hard plastic on top of the rubber cap.
It's not BIG news, but I thought it was interesting. Amgen must pay attention to user comments and attempt to fix problems along the way.

This happened to me too. Did you call Enbrel? They will send you a new needle to replace the one that bent I called and they sent me another one. My next order came with the new caps also they are much better. Have a great day. LINDA

has anyone had problems with injecting? I just did it for the first time and I couldn't get it to push down, then I heard a click and was waiting to hear the second click, but I realized the medication was still in the syringe. So I tried it again and it worked. What was I doing wrong?

Hi Fedup!

You asked:has anyone had problems with injecting? I just did it for the first time and I couldn't get it to push down, then I heard a click and was waiting to hear the second click, but I realized the medication was still in the syringe. So I tried it again and it worked. What was I doing wrong?I'm not sure if the problem that you experienced is the same one that was recently experienced by Cat (seedoubleyou) but here's a link to post that describes what happened during one of her injections: http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showthread.php?p=261974#post261974.

I hope this helps.

Mike

Fedup,
Sounds like you're using the newest enbrel model, the autoinject. Make sure you call the Enliven services and let them know you experienced some difficulties. The number is 1-888-4enbrel.

I just started using Enbrel, and on my second injection we could not get the cap off of the needle in order to do the injection... my boyfriend yanked at it because it would not come off and it ended up getting very bent -- not broken though. Not sure if this was a the best idea but we straightened it out, holding onto it with an alcohol swab, and did the injection anyway, as we were on a trip 3000 miles from home and did not have ANY backup nearby. It went totally fine......

After 2 shots, no site reactions but just a tiny bruise where the shot went in... no burning to speak of... and NO change on my p!! (yet) Unfortunately I am a very impatient person...

What is this needle you are talking about? Is it very effective? I have P. all over my body pretty badly and have tried so many different things but nothing seems to get rid of it... can you please let me know what the needle is about and where i can get it?
