Hey everyone. I had a recent guttate psoriasis flare-up from a viral infection that seemed to go away almost completely after a week or so of intense tanning and clobetasol treatment. Within the last week or so it's flared up a little bit, but I'm back in Ft. Lauderdale which means I'm getting phototherapy treatment. I've used phototherapy treatment several times before with great success (usually 5-7 treatments is enough to completely clear me, but then again, I only have about 2-5% coverage as it is) but this is my first time with narrowband. So I'm thinking that it might get a little worse before it gets better, that is, I think the phototherapy might draw it out a little before it starts to heal it. Sound possible?
My concern however is I think I might be getting PA. Within the last few days I've noticed that my hands are a little stiff upon waking and some of the joints feel, for lack of a better word, a little tight and heavy. I'm not experiencing any pain or swelling or tenderness and my nails are completely fine, although when I type my left pinky feels a little sore (although I'm using a laptap and I'm not used to typing with one so I might have to adjust). What are the usual symptoms of PA? My dad who's a physical therapist examined my hands and said I had full range of motion and my joints felt normal. I have however noticed some psoriasis on my hands which I've never got before. Is there a connection there? I'm not really sure what to think and I'm pretty sure that most of it is in my head, but I am certain that my hands feel stiff and have an odd uncomfortable feeling (which gets better when I'm gripping something, like a cool water bottle or even a pen). And the left pinky thing when I type worries me a little. But I'm really not used to typing like this either. Is there a self-test I can perform? (I read somewhere on here about making a fist and putting the other hand over it or something).
