Hello.... Long time no post! I have PA. "P" getting MUCH better with Humira, "A" continues to get worse and worse(and I can't afford the co-payment on the stuff for much longer, as I pay $120 out of pocket every month!!!) Anyway.... I don't want to get into specifics, or mention any names (unless requested by personal e-mail), but I have become very disappointed in my Rheumy in Charlotte. I moved down here from CT a little over a year ago. I had the most awesome (female) doctor there through Yale, and I miss her greatly. I finally decided that I do not want to go back to my doctor here in Charlotte, but I don't want to blindly find a new doctor without specific knowledge first. I have yet to join the local support group, but would appreciate it if anyone could assist me in this area. I live in Lake Wylie, SC, and work in Charlotte, NC, so anywhere in this vicinity is okay.
Thanks!!!!!

Kim,
Sorry I can not help with the new Rhemy. Even though I live in NC, my Rhemy is at Duke. I just wanted to say welcome back. Someone will come along and help you find what you need.
Take Care,
Cindy

Thanks for the replies and suggestions regarding finding a new Rheumy. I just looked up my doc on that ratings site, and he was rated a "2". Not surprised!!! However, there were two other docs rated at the same practice that both had a score of "10"!!!! I guess maybe I'll start by checking out one of those docs first. Thanks for referring me to Rose. I did e-mail her about the support group when I first moved down here. Looks like it's time to get in touch with her again.
Thanks again!

Kim,
Good luck with the rheumys. It may be best to call Rosey because she was telling me that she doesn't get on the computer much anymore. I hope you find a great rheumy like your old one in CT.

Hi Kim! I saw a great Rheumy a couple of months ago, when I was worried I had PA. Her name is Dr. Cheryl Robertson. She's with Mecklenburg Medical Group on Randolph Rd. in Charlotte. I am an established patient with one of their internists, and I don't know if you'd have to be or not, but I know I couldn't get an appointment with her without a referral from my primary care doc. And then it took about two months. But she's an extremely sweet and wonderful doctor. (I see now her score was 8.5 on drscore.com.) Good luck!
