Hi All...
I saw a program months ago concerning *P* patients who visited a hot-spring somewhere in the US where a certain type of fish actually "nibble" at the psoriasis plaques on your body. Apparently, people have seen amazing results from these treatments...a combination of the water and the "dining fish". Unfortunately, I can not seem to find any information on this type of treatment anywhere. The closest I've come are facilites in Turkey, who use Striker fish in the same way. While I'm sure Turkey is lovely...a closer journey is more appealing! :)
Is anyone aware of this alternative therapy?
Responses much appreciated!

Can u imagine how un hygienic this treatment is. I believe 2 different fish are involved in the process 1 to descale and the other to repair the broken skin. The water must be a breeding ground for all sort of blood diseases. No thank you!

Pumpkin1 has a point, they probably don't put to many chemicals (if at all) in there, to help keep it 'clean'. Chemicals would most likely kill the fish. But if it's a natural spring, then fresh water is consistently being 'pumped in' naturaly, and there must be some kind of run off stream for the water to drain. Of course that still wouldn't garantee a clean 'spring'. Now the Turks sound like they might be doing this in a regulated environment, possibly a small pool/tub that they empty and fill with fresh water after each use, maybe change fish. Then you get into stuff like, do they scrub down the tub after each use?, do they change fish? ... Paranoia is great thing isn't it.
And in the end, your talking about (possibly) paying to let fish eat the flakes off you. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but that's one of my secret hobbies. I can't help but pick at my patches now and then. If I was anymore into it, there would be some sort of scoring system, possibly based on flake size or quantity, not that I've thought of it... really.
Back on topic: It's sounds unlikely at best, and unclean at best. But that's just my ingnorant opnion, more info would perhaps shed more light on the subject.

Hi All!
I have done a little research and can't come up with hotsprings in America with nibbling fish. However, I have found a few sites with information on the turkish hotsprings where "Dr. fish" nibble on psoriasis plaques. This just sounds extremely weird to me but I've been so crazed over my own suffering that I would probably try it. Unfortunately, my traveling funds are nill so I will just have to dream(nightmares? heheheh).

If anyone has an extra couple thousand dollars to send my way I would appreciate it. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Although, I think now is not an optimum time to venture towards Turkey in this chaotic world climate we're living in.

Hi
Check out the dead sea in Israel. I was told it is effective.
Hi Everybody,
I just thought of something on a lighter note reading of the fish treatment. I know of only one fish treatment that will guarantee that you have no prob with psoriasis It is a one time treatment. First you take a trip to the Amazon ask the locals where the nearest River is and Hop on in The Pirahana are like Ginsu knives. * Most important make sure your wearing the stainless steel diving suit that is used when diving with sharks. 8P Ok Back to reality I am not sure about the fish treatment the MTX I take now seems to work for the most part. I started at .30 then .60 now .80cc I hope to start Remicade next month. The Psoriasis I can deal with its this Psoritic arthritis that got my goat. Hope that I got you to crack a smile about the trip to the Amazon. Everybody needs a laugh now and then. I wish everyone the best with the condition they have to deal and live with day to day. Take care of yourself get effective treatment and live your life to the fullest.
Peace and Positive Thoughts
