Just need an opinion. I will see my dermatologist on five days but I wanted to
throw this question out to the real experts.
You guys live with this creepy disease. I am
red head to toe, scales on about 90-95% of my
body, have horrible, painful cuts on my feet,
raised brown spots all over, hair thinning,
and unbelieve pain pain. Oh yeah, now I hve
developed little raised white spots. Any
thoughts to what type of psoriais I suffer
from. I think I got them all and will wind up in a medical journal. Just would like some of your thoughts on the subject. Thanks
in advance.

Timba,
Yikes!
Go call your doc and see if you can't get in any earlier. Just tell them what you told us (don't forget the part about the little white spots - those may actually be blisters)
When I displayed symptoms like that, they diagnosed me with Erythodermic and Generalized pustular psoriasis - but only your dermy would really know. Go check this website on what they have about it - it's really rare, and it can be fatal if it's not treated properly. So do not delay.
You can probably get a derm on call.
Good Luck,
- rose
PS: It will recede...just hang on...
Hello - Can you share with us what your dermy had to say about the above described conditions? It sounds a lot like me, and I've been on mtx. for 12 yrs.!
Also, does anyone have experience with having small "boils" or infections in the underarm areas? Little pea or marble sized balls of infection which are extremely painful, have white pus or exudate when squeezed the first time, then go away but leave big red and scaly patches of p. where there never was any before. This is something new for me, and since I don't have health insurance, want to know if anyone else has ever experienced this before making an appt. with the MD's. Thanks, Rosemary

Rosemary,
I have those!
They hurt like the dickens? Yah, they're boils...they can get pretty big pretty fast, kinda gross, huh?
When I was taking my "Psoriasis Cocktail" (MTX, Neoral, Accutane and stuff) and I got a HUGE boil, my derm elected to excise mine b/c my immune system was being so compromised by the meds.
When my boils healed, they developed a light scale on the area - but I couldn't really equate it to a new lesion...so I couldn't answer to that...I was dealing with Inverse P anyway...so I already had P there to start with...so maybe I just didn't know the difference...
Otherwise, just the normal protocol with boils should do the trick - Cleaning the area with vinegar/water solution twice a day should keep the bacteria dead enough so the boils don't return.
Or you could just steal a few alcohol swabs from an exam room someplace - those will work too ;-)
Hope this helps,
- rose

Hiiya,
Okay sounds totally like pustular psoriasis or what I have been diagnosed with Seborrheic Psoriasis.
I get them on my face. The creases of my nasal area and my chin. Look like pimples and itchyand ouchy. They erupt and then crust over and get scalely. Speads like a rash.
Little red dots.
But keep in mind the liquid in the little pustulars isn't Pus so to speak it's actually white blood cells. Not infection.
Pustullar Psoriasis if severe can be quite dangerous. As it can affect mayjor organ systems if severe and not treated.
Not only that I recall my dermatologist telling my Mom about a link between the psoriasis and strep bacteria or strep throat. Do you get strep infections>
rhop,
I started those boils under the arms around the same time my p first presented itself. I knew something wrong was happening to me. Does anyone have excessive swelling in the p areas on the feet?
Timba- I was in the same place you describe about a month ago. Couldn't hardly function, had to soak in tub 3 times a day and then lather in topicals and vaseline just so my skin was flexible enough to even walk. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.....See your derm and find the best option for you. I just started MTX and for the first time in a year I'm heading back to the land of the living.......Best wishes !!!
