I have had p since i was 10 and pa since 16. I have had a dry throat for months now. It's not a pain, just dry. I have to drink constantly. I even have to keep a bottle of water by my bed at night. Could this be p related? Does anyone else experience this? If so, has anything helped?
Thanks, Kellyl

May I suggest a beer. Just kidding. I havn't experienced any dry throat associated with P. Are you currently on any medications?

Perhaps you should discuss these symptoms with an MD. There are many illnesses/ailments which could be causing this.
Hi, Kelly - I always have a dry throat, along with severe dry eyes. I relate it to my allergies, rather than my p and pa. However, one MD told me that the dry eyes are a common occurence with this disease. Are you on methotrexate? There is a VERY rare but extremely serious condition that can occur with that, in which a dry cough is the symptom. Do you have that? If you aren't on mxt. then nevermind. I agree that perhaps mentioning it to your doctor is worthwhile. Also, excessive thirst can be a sign of diabetes, so if that is a problem, talk to the doc. Also, different medications often cause that symptom of dryness. Don't know what you are on, if anything, but these are some of the possibilities. Hope that helps, but it sounds like it is benign and all that water is really good for your whole system. Good Luck, Rosemary

check with your doctor about a syndrome called Sjorgen (spelling?) syndrome which relates to dry eyes and dry mouth/or throat. Your doctor can do a blood test and find out if you have this factor. I have P and also Sjorgen...just drink lots of water!!!

I've investigated also, after being prescribed Restasis, an anti-inflam eye drop, which has helped with my blurred vision/dry eyes - had gotten really bad. My mouth is dry as well, and when I checked the symptom list I have many... my internist said it's likely, since one auto-immune often "hosts others."
Take a look and see what you think.

My mom has p, pa and Sjogrens (sp). Dry eyes and mouth are a symptom of Sjogrens, you should probably have your doctor check this out for you.
