Hi

A few of you replied to my last comments about my daughter Amy who has just been diagnosed and I thought I would let you know how she is getting on (as well as asking an your opinion!!!):

Amy is doing not to bad at the moment, the Dovonex crea has worked and she now only has what looks liks little pink scars where the spots used to be. Do these scars clear up or can she expect to be left with them - the Dr said to keep on with the Dovonex but now it doesn't seem to be imrpoving them.

Because you can's use the Dovonex on her face I was at a Chinese Medicine Dr the other week (for myself, not Amy) and he noticed her face and immediately said is this Psoriasis on your girls face - I was completely shocked, how many times has she had these marks on her face and the traditional Dr did nothing!!!

Anyway, he has given us some balm to put on it (smells yuck) but he says it should work and has no side effects so if perfectly safe to use - I think it is called Qin Bai Cream. Does anyone have any experience of this as I would be really interested?

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Mandy

Hi Mandy, I don't have any experience with
the cream you mentioned.
But I wanted to tell you that my dermatologist had me try Elidel for a spot of psoriasos on my face (temple), and it worked
for me within a couple of days. Redness and scaliness are gone. It's a new cream on the market....no odor and it isn't greasy.
You might ask your DR about it...

I found that my spots, even in remission, are still there, since they flare up at the same place its always slightly red in those spots. Mine never go back to my normal skin tone, it always has a red color if flared or not. As far as a doctor being able to look at and diagnose Psoriasis, I had a very good and reputable dermo the first visit and she suspected but to be sure she had to do a biopsy. I dont think it is always a look at and diagnose disease.
How old is your daughter and are you afflicted with P also?

Hi - About that Elidel - I think that is a steroid cream (not sure) and you can't use a steroid cream on a child's face. Have you learned anything more about that Qin Bai cream? We're interested in hearing about it, if you do. Good luck, Rosemary
