This may be a long shot, but is there anyone out there with psoriasis that has had a gastric bypass?

HI,
My daughter is now 20mo and was born with psor. and it has affected her mouth and oesphagus which has made it where she cannot eat and has to be fed thru a g-button. All of her doctors are baffled and doing everything they know to do but have not seen psor. affect anyone this way. Have you had gastric problems that caused the by-pass? I am concerned about it affecting her more internally. Hope you doing well now.
Take care,
Shana

Hi: when I was diagnosed in 98, with pustular psoriasis, I tried shark cartilage and it helped lots. Although I would have inflammatory responses, i.e. lost my hearing for 5 mos, and out-breaks.
I used shark from 98 to 2001.
In the spring of 2001, My daughter who is Type 1 diabetic was using Nutritional Products and having incredible results.
I was in the beginning phase of an out-break, all over my torso, breasts raw, caused by fumigants from new clothing from my daughters shopping spree. I started on the nutritional products, and stopped the shark shortly thereafter.
Since the spring of 2001, i've had 0 inflammatory, and 0 out-breaks. I enjoy food, have incredible energy, and love my life. If you would like to learn more, plz contact me at eyzatia@msn.com

This is an old message that I'm replying to but I have PSA and I have had gastric by-pass. I had RNY which is both a
restrictive and malabsorptive process. I have lost a whole lot of weight and I think that has had a positive effect on the arthritis. I mean, if you are lighter, arthritis still hurts, but it hurts less. The psoriasis has not been affected by the operation.
Medication can be a problem after gastric bypass. Some medications you just can't absorb properly after surgery. An example is that you can only absorb calcium citrate, not calcium carbonate. Long acting drugs do not work properly after Gastric Bypass. Also, you cannot take antinflammatories after gastric-bypass.
I also have had to pay attention to meds which are dosed by weight, such as cyclsporine. As I got smaller. I needed to pay attention to my dosages.
I'm not sure what you were asking, but these are my experiences.
