Hi, Everyone - I had the most interesting call out of the blue the other day - a lady in Florida (I live in the Pac. NW) called and asked for me by my maiden name. I was suspicious, but she told me her story:

She had signed up on the Internet for some kind of prescription medication discount cards, and this "company" had been debiting her account every month for 6 months, but she never received anything at all from them. When she tried to contact them, the number was disconnected, or she would get an answering machine but never a call back. She wrote to the company address, and was told that the cards had been sent, but that they would "resend" them - and you can guess that she still never received anything. Finally got someone by mail, and was sent a list of 25 names and phone #'s, and was told if she got them to sign up, she would get her cards.

Well, by this time, she had contacted the state attorney general's office, and the fraud unit, and set out to warn everyone of what a SCAM this thing is!!!! My maiden name was somehow on this list of 25 people, with my correct current phone #, and she was calling every one of them, from Florida, at her own expense, to warn them of this scam to hopefully save other people from throwing their money away. She knew she would never get her money back, but she had to close her bank accounts and credit card, etc. to stop these con artists from draining her account.

Since I had seen some mention of Precription Cards here on the NPF site, I promised this lady that I would pass this info on. BEWARE, and don't give out any personal financial information to anyone on-line!!! I find it really scary that they somehow had access to a name I haven't used in over 30 yrs., but a current phone # for me!!! Rosemary
