Hi

I am in Australia. About 6 weeks ago I began to get a bit of strange muscular pain down the back of my legs and ache in some joints - like my hips and my tailbone. ( I have an old injury in my tailbone (fracture) so to have it reoccur has thrown me a bit). I also seem to have a bit of swelling on the tops of my thighs and have had a couple of new veins pop out!! At the same time I was dx with genital psoriasis by a gynae who said you can get muscular spasms from psoriasis. My chiro then also told me that she thought my pelvic floor had fallen and my spine was twisted. At the time before seeing her I was starting to get a lot tingling in my feet, and i was feeling spaced out and out of it.

One treatment adn a lot of the neuro type stuff cleared up. She is still working on the pelvic floor and considers my muscular and joint aches to possibly be due to the pv. It has improved a bit since her treatment. But what about psoriatic arthritis I wonder??? I have had eye pain 3 times in the last 6 weeks. All this has come at once. Prior to all of this happening I had taken a course of antibiotics and a diflucan tablet and was under a lot of stress adn worry. The chiro practicss kinesiology and could not find a viral or bacterial reason for what has been going on - but then looked at environmental factors and found ethanol and benzopyrene to be in my system (chemicals from car exhaust). We recently bought a new car, so I took it back to get checked and would you belived it it had an exhaust leak!!!

Can anyone shed any light on what might be happenign here. any input appreciated PLEASE PLEASE. I even wonder if the psoriasis dx is correct - but my brother does have it so it's in my family. I don't appear to have psoriais anywhere else. I do have a tiny bit of dandruff.

thanks

I don't want to be graphic or anything but it's red, inflamed, itchy and the inner vulval skin is sort of shiny. dr said I also have anal psoriasis ( a red 'stripe' between the buttocks - this is not really itchy). It also seems to be spreading to the pubis area (seen a reddy type dot and small rash appearing). Is this genital psoriasis from people's experience.

Sorry if I have given too much detail.

aysha01,

I'll ask a gal to post who has had a similar experience...not sure if she's back from the conference, perhaps she can shed some insite and help you get figured out.

Hang in there, must be painful. :(

Hi Aysha, where in Oz are you? If you are in Sydney I can recommend a good Rhuemy & Derm that can help you get diagnosed properly. PM me.

The thing that stuck out for me in your post is where you say "this all happened at once, but was under stress some weeks ago"...or something to that effect.

I can completely identify. My pattern with this disease has ALWAYS been that sometime AFTER Im under the stress, and Im just getting past it-ITREARS IT'S UGLY HEAD in a way Im never going to get used to. I go into major flare, and that's when my p comes out. Other than that I don't suffer perpetually with p-I do suffer all the time with PA.

Maybe you could track it..write it down so you can see if that's your pattern too. Just so you know...the skiin disease and the arthritis do not necessarily correlate with one another. That is to say that you can have PA WITHOUT having any p at all and vice versa.

I have had bouts with Guttate psoriasis which sound exactly like what you are describing. Red/Purple and very shiny. Painful too!

Good luck sweetie, and I hope you feel better really soon.

just one tip: I get the redness in my butt crack too, but I found out that an antifungal cream like nizoral cream works very well.
